The Real You vs. the Ego

It's not easy to tap into 'you', the real 'you', your instinct, your guidance, your spirit, your soul, or however you want to call it.

You, underneath the noise, the construct of society, the indoctrination, underneath the conditioning from early childhood.

On the other hand, the ego presents itself more easily, it is fear-based, it uses arguments, it puts walls up, it hates change. The ego is there for survival, but are you really under threat?

When you are down, and low, and scared, and depressed, the ego is louder, it may say you will never love again, you will never get what you want again, you will forever live here, because change is scary, and it requires faith, ego doesn’t understand faith.

I love the word faith, it is believing in something you can’t prove. It is stepping into an invisible path, it is being forced to embrace change and having a good positive attitude towards everything, because it can turn out better than you have ever imagined.

'

Faith and ego battle it out in your head often. As logical, prone to believe in scary outcomes, ego sometimes wins, and spirals… We make catastrophic scenarios in our heads and we believe them, even though they may never happen. Actually, most likely will never happen. So why can't we believe that something good will happen? What is the difference in believing one thing or the other, believing in either faith or fear is a choice, and one we must do consciously. What if it all works out even better than we imagine?

Your narrative should support your highest self, your wishes, your desires, the universe is there to supply them. When you go driving to work, as you do every day. If a thought crosses your mind saying you might have an accident, do you believe it?, probably not, because countless times you drove to work and you arrived safely, there is evidence to substantiate this belief. But when your heart gets broken, you might have little experience either way. Yes, it probably broke before, but it healed. And it will probably love again. And maybe, just maybe, it will be forever, because winning comes after failing, failure is part of success. You must battle in the trenches to win a war.

Life has taught you it may be hard, it may come with ups and downs, but it will be worth it. Don’t give up. Don’t shut yourself up to love. Don’t stop believing. Have faith, and always think, what if it turns up better than expected?, what if this, what I want most, it’s just around the corner.

Embracing faith over fear is a conscious choice that empowers us to align with our true selves and pursue our dreams with unwavering optimism. As we navigate life's challenges, let us remember that every setback is a stepping stone, and every moment of doubt is an opportunity to reaffirm our belief in the limitless possibilities that await us. Stay resilient, stay hopeful, and keep believing in the magic of what could be.
